Each is equipped with the latest Japanese technology, a "cushion slide mechanism" that prevents the core from breaking (that unpleasant experience of using a mechanical pencil only to have the lead snap). With the "cushion slide mechanism", a spring releases the lead upward when strong writing pressure is applied - thus preventing breakage and allowing the average user to write approximately 65 feet with just a single click. 0.5mm lead.
